bird houses and there occupants

Thought i would start some fun with bird houses, I think we all have one or made a few, We put some on the fence posts out by the road to try and sell and the birds imediately moved in. This one is the restaurant with living quarters on top and i believe a sparrow or finch is the occupant.

I agree Papa1stuff!

The ones I make are the old traditional "Blue Bird" and "Tree Swallow" birdhouses!

They work, just not a pretty as those pictured by redbeard.
I love my sawmill

My birdhouses are kinda rustic. However, we do have a birdhouse builder here in the valley that has quite the collection. I will see about getting a picture sometime. I might add that he is related to the bowl turner and the spoon maker, but not the urn maker or the flute maker.

Barn swallows are the main occupants in this 15 unit complex that was built by my uncle back in 93, A wind storm downed it a few years back and i was cleaning up the area and i decided it needed a new spot so i leveled off a 10' snag that something has been wittling on and hopefully it will be fully rented by winter.

Do your swallows pack up and go South for the Winter?

As long as they eat there quota of misquitos, they can stay as long as they want. I need to build some more bat houses!
