The walls are still in log form as of now. So far I have been able to stick with the plan although it was not all that detailed.

Whoa...no pics, didn't happen...'dems the rules...;)

Would like to see them anyway...

I really like the look of board n bat especially on out blds. and barns. The building inspectors just drive on by they think you just pressure washed your old barn. At least thats what i will tell them.

I put 50 bales of hay in the barn today and the truck is backed up to the barn with another 100 bales ready to be unloaded in the barn.

Here are the 100 bales of hay on the truck. That last bale is a long through to get it up on top.

Looks like you will have the hay barn full before you get it finished. I understand, I grew up on a cattle farm, but there's just no cattle there now. Nothing but trees.

I think that is why those farm barns have gabled ends so you can just add another set of posts and lengthen the building.

I recall some red barns that had four or five different peek heights and about 200 feet long.

I made some progress on the barn today. I got the bracing and the nailer boards for the siding on two walls in place. Now those two walls are ready for the board and bat siding to go up. It is all milled up and stickered out at the barn. The long brace board is on the inside and can be removed after some of the hay is used up.

That's what I would call building a house around the hay. :sawing :nailing

The middle boy was backing the truck into the driveway and knocked the bus stop off its foundation. (not quite sure how he did that considering the bus stop is on the other side of the gate post) Anyway he helped me lift the bus stop out and rebuild the foundation and set the bus stop back in place. There fore I got a late start working on the barn today. I did manage to get 14 boards up on the shady side of the barn. Only two more to finish out the wall. That included six vents in the eaves. These mid 90’s are slowing me down a bit. May still get some triple digit days this week.
