Yup. That was indeed a mess. She was understandably looking for a way to reduce her removal costs, but it was a massive Coast Live Oak, no real mill value, and the job certainly required a professional arborist's expertise to remove safely.

That was one of those situations where she probably realized after a while that it was GONNA cost her to get rid of the tree.

The only folks I know who will use live oak are the turners, and even then it's not easy to work with.

When a big yard tree has to come down the cost is high, and there is no recouping the cost in most cases and some people struggle with that concept.
