Turning Logs to Educate the Public
Portable sawmills will draw front row onlookers
whenever they are in public view and this Green
Living Expo in Kentucky  is no exception.
"Cantuctter" demonstrates how trees found in urban
communities can be used for more than firewood or
landfill.
"I am setting up and operating my sawmill and the
educational focus is to show people the value of
their own trees when using a sawmill service. I am
displaying a shed that I built from my own lumber".
The possibilities of what homeowners can make from
trees found in back yards and farms is endless.
Having your own trees made into something for your
home or family gives it greater value than what can
be purchased at the big box store.  Knowing that
keeping these trees from ending up in the landfill or
fireplace is another way to contribute to the Green
Movement and receive a satisfaction and peace of
mind that cant be found at the lumber yard. More
Save the Trees
Sawmills Riding the Green Wave
Portable Sawmills everywhere are jumping on the
band wagon when it comes to the Green Movement.
Without question todays Sawyers are having a
sizable impact on salvaging and recycling trees that
would otherwise be lost to sub standard use such as
firewood or chipped up as waste.
Social pressure and the new U.S. Administration will
bring greater world wide focus on changing our past
habits of wasteful neglect and pollution.  Developing
new strategies to move towards building
sustainable, cost effective, eco friendly industries
will take the front seat from now on.
The construction industry is running a close second
to auto makers who have captured the public eye
when it comes to going green. Home buyers
everywhere will be looking closely at Green building
methods and materials when it comes time to close
the deal of a home purchase. We have seen how
home and garden shows, the construction trade
along with state and federal laws all around the
country have proven that public interest is high and
is driving the green movement to levels never before
seen. Choosing what type of materials are used in
the construction of new homes and remodels will be
a major concern for every builder who must decide
and balance the requirements for profit and the need
to be "Green".
Small sawmill operators can now offer homeowners
and builders a cost effective means to use urban
trees found on farms, city streets and backyards to
build everything from a fence to a complete home,
this can include the framework, siding, cabinets,
trim, even the furniture and outbuildings. This is an
option most consumers have not been aware of until
the growing industry of the small portable sawmill
has moved into the spotlight associated with the
demand for green products.  Keeping our planet
green has prompted business owners, large and
small to position their advertising and marketing
techniques to be in line with consumers who will be
looking at how they can make a difference. Sawyers
will be "Riding the Green Wave" of television, the
Internet and every type of media that has put Green
into mainstream society.
Six Quick Tips for Running Internet Adds
Online marketing is similar to traditional direct marketing when trying to reach a particular target client.
Internet advertising is easy as long as you keep in mind a few simple rules.

1.  Clearly Identify Yourself
The most common mistake made is not being clear who is posting the add and how to contact them.
Strategically place your name and contact information at the beginning and at the end of each add.
Come up with a good tag line, logo or avatar so that no matter what media you are posting in, you are
easily recognizable and memorable. Once you have found your "Trade Marks" use them consistently.
Whenever possible place a link to your website, blogs or anyplace you have an Internet presence.
2.  Incorporate Keyword Phrases into Titles and Headlines
Whether it's web pages, blogs, press releases, classified adds or any Internet media, using a keyword
phrase along with your business name or personal contact information you can improve how searchers
find your add or website in the future. These three areas are what search engines look at most when
indexing content. Choose keywords that accurately reflect your business, they should be specific enough
to target potential customers who will be searching for your product or service.
3.  Spell Check
Nothing ruins credibility faster than misspellings or incorrect grammar. Recheck spelling and have
someone else review your work.  Spell checkers are great but don’t depend on them to catch appropriate
word usage or necessary punctuation.
4.  Build Up Social Status
Forum's such as "Saw Bucks"  and social networking are not “Hit and Run” tactics. Reviews, status and
relationships are cultivated and built up over a long period of time in a venue that enhances the service or
product you are promoting. This is when your business gets the most positive attention.
5.  Look to the Future
Internet marketing landscapes are constantly fluctuating, whether in the form of updated search engine
algorithms or new social media outlets. Devote time to keeping yourself educated on whats new and
upcoming and being prepared to meet new challenges.
6.  Be Patient
Internet Marketing typically doesn't work overnight. Only a small percentage of response will be seen in
the short term, many clients will refer to finding your information from long past adds. Once your marketing
program is deployed, be patient and continuously monitor, analyze, refine and update.

If you want to grow your business then grow your advertising on the net!
