Book Matched Black Walnut Burl, Set of Two

Here is a nice book matched pair of 4/4 (full one inch thick) California Claro
Black Walnut with a little Flaming Fan Shell type of Fiddle Back figure. It is
mixed in with pin knot burl here. It was cut on 7-20-07. It is air drying nicely
right now and will be ready to use at around 1-1-08. These are about 24
inches at the long point and 9 inches at it's widest and one full inch thick. All
they need is to be kept in a cool dry area for curing (Air Drying).
This set would make some nice book matched projects.

Photographs: Each burl has its own unique bark, sapwood, cracks and inclusions. When
taking photographs I always try to include all sides of the flitch cuts and capture any and all
defects such as checks and voids. This insures that you will receive the veneer in the condition
as shown. When photographing I use natural sunlight and I do not use alcohol, water, or any
other means of enhancing the grain or figure unless clearly noted.

Please Note: It is possible that pictures of some species will appear different on your
computer screen or printer than what the material actually looks like. No two computer
monitors will show colors identically. Some are brighter, some have more contrast making it
difficult to reproduce the same results. I try to photograph all material as close to the
original color as possible. Additionally, walnut burl is typically darker than what is shown in
the pictures.
